Ligonier Lodge has donated to a wide range of charities in the local community as well as throughout western Pennsylvania. Below is a list of some of the charities we have donated to recently.
Holiday Toy Drive & Holiday Food Drive & School Supply Drive
At the beginning of the school year and around the Holiday Season the lodge participates in several charitable activities. In August we hold a School Supply Drive to benefit the children in the area that cannot afford school supplies. In December for Christmas we hold a Toy Drive to benefit the local Salvation Army. In November for Thanksgiving we hold a Food Drive to benefit the local Food Pantry.
Ligonier Valley School District Scholarship
Each year the lodge donates a scholarship to a graduating senior from the Ligonier Valley High School to assist with their post high school education. Pictured here is Bro. Shawn M. Proskin, PM with the scholarship winner in 2012 Samuel Vigliotti.
Sports inspired charity work
For several years the Lodge has put together a team of members to participate in a local wiffle ball tournament. The proceeds of the event benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. While we haven’t won the tournament, it’s been a fun event!
The lodges holds a Fantasy Sports Season throughout the year amongst the members. We have participated in Fantasy Football, Baseball, and March Madness Brackets. All money goes to charity. The winner of each season gets to pick the charity of his choice to have his winnings be donated.
Over the years some of the charities selected to receive the donations have been…
